The module aims at:

•       Providing a deep understanding of the general economic and market context within which the shipping investment decision is taken.

•       Analysing the sources of uncertainty when investing in shipping

•       Examining the different investment constraints in the various shipping segments

•       Discussing investment challenges in cyclical markets

•       Identifying patterns in shipping investment and expectations

•       Classifying risk related to investment in shipping

•       Discussing investment strategy on the basis of historic case studies

•       Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the module, students should be able to:

•       Analyse  the constraints of shipping investment in a volatile environment

•       Identify sources of risk related to shipping investment
