To enhance international students’ understanding of modern warehousing and cross-border supply chain operations and to bridge classroom learning with real-world industry practices, the College of Transportation organized a field trip for its Logistics Management international students to the DSV Lingang Logistics Center on June 12th.
Guided by DSV’s on-site management team, the students toured key operational areas, including the receiving staging zone, high-bay racking storage facility, and active work zones. They gained first-hand insights into warehouse layout design, inventory management protocols, inbound/outbound workflows, and safety standards at a leading global logistics provider. A DSV representative also presented an overview of core third-party logistics (3PL) services—covering international sea freight, air freight, and end-to-end supply chain solutions—and engaged in an interactive Q&A session with the students on topics such as warehouse efficiency, cross-border logistics lead time management, and supply chain risk mitigation.
This visit offered students an up-close look at the operations of a world-class logistics enterprise, helping them build a more intuitive and comprehensive understanding of modern warehousing technologies and international logistics processes. The activity significantly broadened their professional perspectives and laid a solid foundation for their future academic studies and industry practice.
