On June 1, 2023, the college held a lecture on safety knowledge for international students who are going to join the navigation internship this month. This lecture was delivered by Captain Wang Deling from the Merchant Marine College. Twelve international students, the Secretary of the College's Party Committee, Shi Juan, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Yang Fangmei, and the navigation internship instructors jointly participated in this lecture.
Teacher Wang introduced the theme of safety with the stage photo from the movie Titanic. Teacher Wang gave a wonderful safety knowledge lecture in English to the international students from the aspects such as Priority familiarization, Life-saving appliances, Personal safety in the event of a fire, Basic safety awareness, Precautions of entering confined space and Onboard Discipline. Mr. Wang introduced various alarm signals and devices on board, as well as life- saving appliances such as Personal flotation device and lifeboats in detail, focusing on fire prevention and escape related precautions and safety knowledge. Finally, the relevant group discipline and foreign affairs discipline during the navigation internship were emphasized to the international students.
This lecture made international students aware of many important safety issues during the navigation internship process, provided answers to potential safety risks on board, and guided them to make necessary preparations for the upcoming navigation internship to ensure the smooth and safe completion of the internship.
