A short biography
Wei Liu, Ph.D., Professor, doctoral and postdoctoral supervisor, member of academic committee of Shanghai Maritime University (SMU), deputy editor-in-chief and area editor-in-chief of Journal of Shanghai Maritime University, editorial board member of China Shipping Development Annual Report---a governmental white paper of the Ministry of Transport of PR China, evaluation panel member and peer reviewer of National Natural Science Foundation of China, peer reviewer of National Office for Science & Technology Awards, now is in charge of academic group for international Logistics systematic planning and management, Centre for Logistics Services and Transport Management Modernization, and Laboratory for Logistics Spatial Analysis of Shipping and Port.
Dr. Liu graduated from SMU in Jan. 1982 (B.Eng., Mechanical Engineering), got his Ph.D. in Management Science & Engineering from Tongji University in 1999. He has worked in SMU after getting UN Certificate in shipping management (Country-level international program sponsored by the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, United Nations) and Master degree of Engineering in Transport Management Engineering, been appointed a full professor in 1999, doctoral and postdoctoral supervisor respectively in 2002 and 2006, held successively the posts of assistant dean of Shipping Management Department, founding director for Teaching and Research Section of Systems Engineering and Management Science, founding director for the program & Teaching and Research Section of International Business Administration, deputy dean of Graduate School, and founding director of MBA program of SMU.
