1. Teaching Objectives

Logistics management involves many areas of expertise and integrates organizational management and engineering, material flow, information flow and capital flow, which is an integration of multiple systems and require close combination of theory and practice. In view of this, modern logistics professionals should possess comprehensive capabilities. The teaching objectives of the specialty are: to fully reflect the comprehensive features of the specialty and enable students to master a wide range of expertise and obtain knowledge of international logistics; to focus on the organization management and engineering technology on the basis of overall balance; and strengthen teaching practice, and improve students' practical capability.


2. Learning Outcomes

The graduates should obtain knowledge and abilities of the following aspects:

l  Basic knowledge of natural and social science; 

l  Strong English and computer skills: graduates should pass CET 4 as required by National Education Ministry for all university graduates and encourage students to pass CET 6 if possible; 

l  To master the basic theory and basic knowledge in science and engineering, business administration and logistics management;

l  To master business knowledge and policies regulations in logistics and other related fields, to equip students with the capability for logistics system planning and design, logistics administration, logistics business management; 

l  To master the basic theory and knowledge in international logistics; 

l  To have modern information retrieval capability, and capable of preliminary research and practical work.


3. Major subjects and main courses

Main Subject: logistics, management science, operations research

Main courses: operations research, principles of management, principles of logistics, supply chain management, transportation station and hub, means of delivery, logistics system planning and design, logistics information systems, warehousing and distribution management, charter transportation practice and regulations, liner transportation practices and regulations, e-commerce.


4. Practices and Filed Study

The main practice is divided into three parts, namely, recognition practice, course design and simulation practice. Recognition practice includes transport company visits and logistics company visits. Course design includes logistics information systems course design and logistics system planning course design. Simulation practice includes transportation business (simulation) practice, third-party logistics business (simulation) practice, and container terminal business (simulation) practice.

Bachelor of Management
