1. Teaching Objectives

The specialty aims to nurture high-level shipping management professionals who specialize in international shipping business and international shipping operation management, familiar with international trade and international transport practices, posess a good command of English language, They should be capable of working independently home and abroad international, and could meet the urgent demand from shipping and integrated logistics enterprises, government administrative departments and research institutes.


2. Learning Outcomes

The students of this program are supposed to take the basic principles of computer, law and management science they master as basis, further gain knowledge on varied subjects such as shipping management, shipping business and related regulations, multimodal transport and supply chain management, get familiarized with international shipping management and international trade practice, understand the operation law and the method for development trend prediction of shipping industry, receive basic training in business management methods and techniques, and participate in social practice and corporate filed study.

Successful graduates from the program should obtain knowledge and abilities listed below:

l  to grasp the principles of Management Science, the basic theories and methods of modern enterprise management, basic knowledge about and abilities to use computer; 

l  to master qualitative and quantitative analytical methods for international shipping and logistics business management; 

l  to understand shipping business and its related laws and regulations, familiarize with the practice of international trade, international shipping policy, commercial operation practice and international conventions of international shipping industry; 

l  to know the forefront theoretical research and development trend of the discipline; 

l  Students should have a good command of English language and be skilled in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, be able to adapt to the needs of the international shipping management and other related areas of work; 

l  to master basic methods of literature search and data access, and could undertake certain scientific research and practical work.
